Optimus Prime, as the leader of the fictional Autobots represents the most popular character in all of the different incarnations of the transformers. Holding the Autobot Matrix of Leadership, Optimus Prime started out as Orion Pax but was then transformed by Sentinel Prime into a battle-ready machine so that he could lead the Autobots into battle against the Decepticons. The fact that he takes multiple forms have made Transformer toys and costumes produced some of the best-selling ones of all time.
